Hello everybody.

Romanian FORD-ers will meet on 11-13 June in Ramnicu Valcea (max 5 hours drive from Russe) at the 3rd annual national meeting of Romanian Ford owners' club.

This year we have the support of FORD Romania and we will try to attempt a world Guiness record: the largest FORD cars parade in the world - on june 12th! The attempt will take place on the highest Romanian road, named Transalpina.

If interested, we gladly invite you. Come and have a good time with us, 2-3 days, and be a part of Ford history. Estimate cost of 1 night accomodation is around 50 leva per night per double room.

Location: we are making arrangements with Hotel Cozia located 18 km from Ramnicu Valcea, on the "Valea Oltului" Road - it is the road that connects Ramnicu Valcea with Sibiu; the hotel has around 195 rooms - which means it can accomodate around 400 people

The price seems to be as follows (I don't know yet if it includes breakfast)
* double room per night = 90 ron
* single room per night = 72 ron

2 ron = 1 leva

What do we do there:
- saturday: show and party
* THE SHOW: means we gather all fords in the parking, criticise them , speak good about them ) , make friends, joke, and enjoy the contests: best looking car, the 50 meters push-car race, just hang out with the other participans
** THE PARTY: eat, drink and dance .... all night long ... and some karaoke, probably
- sunday: largest FORD cars parade
* we will gather on the transalpina road whihc will be closed only for us (or at least a part of it) and film and document and have some notaries testify that we are at least 167 cars to enter the guiness book of records as the longest cars parade (why 167? 'cos the current record belongs to australia, with 166 cars)
** after the parade: free time, some will remain there, some will go home; those who remain, will party again in then ight, so you might consider taking the monday off from work )

you can enter romania through vidin-calafat or russe-giurgiu

current "travelling costs"
- 1 liter of gasoline/petrol is around 5 ron = 2,5 leva
- romanian road tax for 7 days: 12.77 ron = 6,35 leva
- russe/giurgiu bridge crossing: around 7 eur per way = 16 eur in total = 32 leva

the last pictures show another parking that we wanted to use, but the owners asked for too much money, so we will use the hotel parking for "the ford show"

soon the registration site will be functional
1 double room for 1 night will be around 100 ron (aprox 50 leva)

latest news:
tomorrow or the day after tomorrow the registration site will be up and running

i don't know if you have to be members of clubford.ro in order to register; i will check with the webmaster

registration for "clubford.ro days" starts tomorrow BUT the first thing you have to do if you wish to attend is TO REGISTER on the clubford.ro forum ( http://www.clubford.ro" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ); there is no english version of the forum, but you can use google chrome browser which has a built-in feature of translating the pages; anyway, the forum looks very similar to this one

alternatively, you can tell me which username you want to use, and i register it for you on the clubford.ro forum

after you register on the forum, you can register on http://www.zilele.clubford.ro" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for the meeting that will be 10-13 june - the main activities are on 11 and 12 june (saturday and sunday); you have to be logged-in on the forum, so that your username is automatically recognised by zilele.clubford.ro site

registered participants fall in 3 categories
- members of the romanian clubford association
- members of the forum (this is where you fit)
- others

after registration, there is priority for booking the rooms - first are members of association. second are the members of forum and then "others"; don't worry, the hotel has around 200 rooms, there is no danger to be left behind; you can choose how many nights you want to book

after registration you will be contacted by the travel agency which manages bookings for confirmation of period, they will issue proforma invoice, and you have 7 to 10 days to pay; if you don't, your registration is cancelled; if you pay, you will receive a voucher and the final invoice from the travel agency (final invoice comes a bit later due to number of registrations)

we are working on having something in english on the zilele.clubford.ro website, to be easier for you

yep, the numbers started to grow , and soon people who registered will receive invoices for accomodation and party, so we're serious about it

one thing i have to say: the 47 people you see at clubford party are the people who agreed to pay for the menu (60 ron food + 20 ron drinks) BUT the other people will participate at the party, and they will pay for what they eat or drink

if needed, i can translate the menu

2. Mixed grill
- pork neck

all of the above is worth 60 ron; you will also receive a voucher worth 20 ron for drinks
